![]() I think it's also totally fair that you would rather they make their own original IP rather than more Dead Space. It's clear people are suggesting this because they really enjoyed the Dead Space remake and feel its an indication that if Motive were to make their own Dead Space games, that they clearly have the chops and the understanding of the series to do so. ![]() How many people at that studio were even around when they were making Crash games? It's also not fundamentally that different than if Naughty Dog themselves were to make another Crash game right now. ![]() Sure, a majority of them didn't live up to the success or quality of the original trilogy, but the recent remake/remaster of that trilogy + Crash 4 were clearly of a high quality. We have received more Crash Bandicoot games not made by Naughty Dog than the ones that were made by ND. ![]() Gamers are fucking miserable.Ĭlick to shrink.Studios making sequels/spin-offs of IPs that were originally made by other studios is neither a new thing, nor is it constrained to the video game industry. Guess Resident Evil should have just gone in the bin after Resident Evil 6. One flawed game and a series should die? Fuck that. I completely disagree with the idea that Dead Space 3 is so bad that the series "rightly" died. I don't need a straight up Dead Space 3 remake, but a follow-up to a Dead Space 2 remake that's more in line with what makes the series great but uses some of those settings could be awesome. The big over-the-top cosmic horror videogamey boss was so much better than Dead Space 2's final encounter (and the lead-up to it). I also honestly prefer Dead Space 3's ending to Dead Space 2. I prefer the environments and greater sense of place in Dead Space 3 to Dead Space 2, for example - the Derelict Flotilla and Ice Planet felt much more like actual places to me than the Sprawl, which felt much more like a series of videogame levels to me. It's severely flawed, but there's still stuff in there I liked that I would love to see revisited in a better game. ![]()
